About

Marks’ consulting practice is dedicated to helping a variety of organizations answer the question, “How do we build community to fulfill mission?”

The focus of his work has stemmed from a lifelong experience of working with volunteers, donors and staff. Within his practice, he began to realize that the similarities between each of the participants of an organization were more significant that the differences. Based on this understanding, he focuses on the importance of building unity between volunteers, donors, staff and clients to achieve full potential.

His counsel has helped raise over $750,000,000 in private support and facilitated the development of hundreds of stories in the media. Mark has been an advisor to well over 150 organizations. Beyond working with MRFA clients, he is Senior Counsel with Franco Public Relations Group and an Adjunct Professor at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit where he earned his doctorate with a dissertation entitled, “Compassion in Board Decision Making.”
